How the drill works

In this drill, four attackers are positioned in a diamond shape with one goalkeeper in goal and a mannequin placed just outside the penalty box to simulate a defender. Player 1 starts at the bottom of the diamond with the ball and initiates the passing sequence by playing a pass to Player 2 on the left side. Player 2 immediately passes diagonally across the diamond to Player 3, who is positioned opposite Player 1 at the top of the diamond. Player 3 then passes the ball to Player 4 on the right side. Player 4 makes a one-touch layoff pass into the path of Player 1, who has made a forward run toward the top of the diamond. Player 1 receives the layoff and takes a shot on goal, aiming to finish past the goalkeeper while avoiding the mannequin obstacle. After the shot, all players rotate clockwise to the next position in the diamond, ensuring everyone has a chance to play each role and take shots on target.

KCP The drill focuses on sharp one-touch passing, timing of forward runs, and finishing under pressure, while also encouraging teamwork, communication, and fluid rotation.
